BIO
Graduate - UCLA
41 years in education.
In my 41 years, I served as a High School Teacher, High School Counselor, Jr. High School Principal, and Coordinator of Alternative Education. I retired after 24 years as Principal of Indio High School. My administrative team and I were instrumental in raising the graduate rate from 69% to 96%. The drop out rate was 34% and we decreased it to 2.9%.
I have served on 16 WASC committees, and chaired a number of visits. After retiring, I traveled throughout the country presenting on real solutions for schools. In recent years, I served as an Interim Principal at Middle and Elementary schools (3 yrs.).
I live in San Marcos, California with my wife Elizabeth, an Elementary Principal. Together we have five children ranging from 15 to 43 years old.
Google rudy ramirez indio high school, you will find an article entitled 'Scary to Top Ranking'. The article gives you a glimpse of the work we accomplished in my 24 years at Indio High School.
